Donkerhoek is a historical suburb in Gauteng. The battle of Diamond Hill or Donkerhoek took place during the Anglo Boer War in 1900.

While visiting Donkerhoek it would be worth your while to take time to visit the Cullinan Diamond Mine which is most well known for the largest uncut diamond ever found and is still fully operational with underground tours for visitors.
