Science and Technology Museum, Pretoria
Thanks to SAASTA the South African Agency for Science and Technology Advancement, the Science and Technology Museum in Pretoria accommodates a fascinating collection of exhibits. Visitors are encouraged to be as interactive with the displays as they wish. The goal is to get the South African youth to experience hands-on science, with the medium of interesting models, thought-provoking displays and educational exhibits. The museum in Pretoria is proud to house one of the countries planetariums - the inflatable planetarium, known as Starlab. If you prefer, you may arrange a guided tour through the museum so that the various aspects of technology, physics, biology and mechanics can be verbally explained and discussed, as well as the finer details of space exploration. Also of great interest to most visitors, is the Hall of Holography, where you can study the connection between lasers and real 3D images. And of further interest, is the Optikon, displaying optical illusions, which generally bring a smile of enlightenment to many a faces.

The museum is open Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 16:00 and on Saturdays from 14:00 to 17:00.
