Pieter Toeriens Montecasino Theatre

Montecasino has been voted The Best Casino, Best Entertainment Complex, Best Cinema Complex and Best place to take out-of-towners, and at the heart of all of this is Pieter Toeriens Montecasino Theatre. The 320 seater Main Stage theatre opened at Montecasino in November 2000 after moving from the Johannesburg CBD, a move which has paid since opening night. Its first show, Defending the Caveman was a record breaker and the theatre has since gone on to be the home of the best shows in Gauteng. Some of the shows include, The Graduate, Death of a Salesman, Stones in his Pockets and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat bringing names like Bea Arthur, Moira Lister, Bill Flynn, Tim Plewman, Michael Richard, Tobie Cronje, Pieter-Dirk Uys, Marc Lottering and Rex Garner to the stage. 2003 saw the opening of the 150 seater Studio Theatre which has also become a leading venue for top quality plays and comedy. The Prompt Theatre Bar and Coffee Bar serve the two venues with delicious cups of coffee and tea as well as thirst quenching drinks before and at the intervals of the shows.

Directions

You will find Montecasino situated at the Fourways junction of William Nicol Drive and Witkoppen Road. Montecasino is accessible from the William Nicol off-ramp, from the N1 freeway (Western Bypass).
From the N1 (Western Bypass) take the William Nicol Turnoff, turn onto William Nicol Drive and drive in a Northerly direction towards Fourways for approximately 3km.
Cross over Leslie Road. At the next traffic light intersection (Kingfisher Road), turn right into Montecasino Boulevard. Continue around the traffic circles and you will find entrances for Montecasino on your left-hand side.
