Simons Town Festival

Simons Town Festival

Simons Town welcomes the spring and invites all its friends, residents and neighbours to celebrate over Heritage Weekend. There is something for everyone to enjoy: diverse music in venues all over town, navy bands and choirs, Tango on the Square, art, craft, creativity, history galore and great food from sushi to boerewors rolls - all in one of South Africas most beautiful little towns! See whales from the beach, play in the sand, hunt treasure in the Glencairn wetlands, visit the penguins. Arrive by Steam Train to a carnival welcome; delve into the history of our unique naval town and explore its many museums and historical buildings. Participate in ceremonies that commemorate its past; share the excitement of the schools soccer final and the Lipton Cup-winning False Bay Yacht Club regatta; breathe in the fresh fynbos air in the show gardens, take a guided walk around historic Glencairn or up to the Waterfall in Simons Town. The Wellness Expo, part of the festival, hosts a range of health-related practitioners for consultation, demonstration and information. Whether you are two or ninety two, there is something to celebrate in Glencairn and Simons Town over the Heritage Weekend. So make a point of stopping in and rediscover Simons Town, theyve got it all, so share it with them.

If you dont have a car the train is a cheap and terrific way to get here. The roughly hourly trip runs direct from Cape Town Station offering one of the most scenic train rides in the world along the coast via Muizenberg to the most southerly train station in Africa.
