PINK LOERIE CELEBRATES 16 YEARS OF SUCCESS!

Dates: Wednesday 27 April - Sunday 1 May 2016 (Wednesday 27 April & Monday 2 May are Public Holidays).

Theme: Young at Heart and Never Been Kissed!

This year, being the 16th year of success will include 16 things to do in Knysna, 16 places of special interest in the region, 16 restaurants to visit and much more. The highly successful flea market, wine and beer garden and VIP fund-raising dinner will be there to rediscover once again.

Knysna and its visitors will also be able to once again cheer the word-class act of Wigstock Chapter 2 as this is planned to coincide with the Pink Loerie 2016. The confirmed date of the festivities is the last week of April with the VIP Dinner and Fundraising Auction on Friday 29 April and the Sweet Sixteen party hosted by Betty Bangles on Saturday 30 April 2016.

We are pleased to welcome newcomers to the Pink Loerie - the Bear Gay Culture who will present the Bear Colony Festival 2016.

Wikipedia summarizes the bear culture as a segment of the male bisexual and gay culture as a larger, hairier man who projects masculinity. Bears are one of many groupings in the LGBT community with their own events, codes and a culture-specific identity. The term bear was popularized by Richard Bulger, who was the co-founder of Bear Magazine in 1987.
