The Momentum Cape Times Knysna Forest Marathon is an annual event which takes place in Glebe Knysna Forest. The marathon will be run on the 11th July 2015.
There are three distances to choose from, 42km marathon, 21.1km half marathon and the 5km fun run. The whole family will enjoy the event as there is so much to see and do and there is a race for every one to participate in, whether you are an avid runner or just want to enjoy a walk with your children. The views are beautiful and the race is popular amongst locals and visitors from around the country.
The marathon route is mostly on gravel road through the forest with some challenges.
42km marathon - 7am
21.1km half marathon - 8am
5km fun run - 7:30am
Medals will be awarded to all finishers within the cut off times. Be sure to mark this date on your calendar, it will be a fun way to spend time outdoors with the whole family.
The Momentum Cape Times Knysna Forest Marathon has been consistently ranked in a number of our surveys as a well organised and well presented event. Although the race starts at 07h00, it is important to get to Loerie Park early to be taxied up to the start – no private vehicles will be allowed up to the start. The taxi shuttles start leaving from 04h30. This aspect of the race has its own special appeal and the taxi trip is almost as memorable as the race itself. A good suggestion is to wear old clothing that you will not mind discarding one you start or have warmed up, but there is a tog-bag truck on hand to take your bag back down to the finish so no need to freeze while waiting for the start.
