Franklin Roosevelt Park

Roosevelt Park
After the Second World War ended South Africa saw a major boom in the 1950s as many returning service men set up homes in new suburbs. One of those suburbs was Roosevelt Park and it soon became home to the young soldiers and their families. The suburb, which today forms part of Randburg, was names after the American president, Franklin D. Roosevelt, who had served three terms in office and died shortly before the allied peace. The resident demographics for Roosevelt Park and surrounding suburbs are that of a more affluent area which leads to the assortment of fine shopping centres.

Attractions
The main attractions surrounding Roosevelt Park are the shopping centres. These include Brightwater Commons, Cresta Centre and Sanlam Shopping Centre to name but a few. The Harbour Market has more than 80 restaurants and food venues with beautiful lake side views as well as offering visitors late-night shopping.

Climate
Roosevelt Park and surrounding suburbs have a mild, dry, sunny climate which is sometimes interrupted by short, afternoon thundershowers during the summer.
