About the Apartment

The apartment is all on one level and is situated on the ground floor, with access to the entrance down one flight of stairs.

The main bathing beach and the magnificent promenade are approximately 100 meters from the apartment. The apartment has DSTV (satellite TV) on a big flat screen TV. There is air-conditioning in the kitchen living and dining area with ceiling fans in the bedrooms. FREE high speed Wi-Fi Internet access is provided throughout the apartment. The apartment is serviced daily except on Sundays and Public Holidays. You are spoilt for choice with a variety of restaurants, alfresco dining, bars and supermarkets, all within easy walking distance of the nearby town centre.

The Livingroom
The Lounge / dining area is beautifully furnished with comfort being a major consideration when the apartment was decorated. DSTV (satellite TV) is provided on a 50" flat screen TV. From the lounge and dining area are sliding doors that open out onto the garden and barbeque area. There are partial sea views from the garden.

The Kitchen
The modern kitchen is fully equipped including an under counter oven, hob, microwave, dish washer and fridge. There is also a launderette in the complex or alternatively, your laundry can be washed and ironed for you at a small additional cost.

The Bedrooms
There are two double bedrooms with a main en-suite bathroom with a shower. There is a second bathroom with a bath for the other bedroom. The apartment sleeps a maximum of four guests with a King-size bed in the main bedroom and twin beds in the second bedroom (which can be converted into a king-size bed on request). Quality bed linen, bath and beach towels are provided.

Attractions

The apartment is in easy walking distance of the Umhlanga Village and several upmarket restaurants, bars, coffee shops and supermarkets. The facilities on offer are exceptional. There are numerous hotels in the immediate vicinity where children can enjoy ten pin bowling, game arcades etc.

For the water enthusiasts, there is deep sea fishing, dolphin viewing, scuba diving, snorkelling, surfing or just relaxing on the beaches or taking a long leisurely walk or a jog on the 5km beach Promenade. The award winning Pier is also a must see and was recently voted the "Best Pier in the World". There are several world class golf courses in the immediate vicinity.

13 The Shades is a five minute drive from Gateway, (the largest shopping and entertainment centre in the Southern Hemisphere), twenty minute drive from Durban and the International Conference Centre (I. C. C.) Private first world hospitals are a five minutes drive away by car. Sibaya Casino is only a five minute drive away. Ushaka Marine World is just a 20 minute drive from The Shades. Take a ride in the cable car to the top of the Moses Mabhida Stadium (home of the 2010 Football Word Cup) and enjoy spectacular views of Durban and the entire coastline as far as the eye can see.

Directions
From The M4:

Take the Umhlanga Rocks off ramp & turn & head towards the sea.
At the third set of traffic lights turn into LAGOON DRIVE.
Approximately 500m along this road, turn into Weaver Crescent.
You will see THE SHADES on your left.
