The McCarthy Toyota Half Marathon, 10km and 5km fun run is an annual event which is well supported by locals and visitors from all around the country. The race takes place in Rietondale Park, Gauteng. The race will be held on the 4th February 2012. (Dates for 2013 are to be confirmed)
The McCarthy Toyota Half Marathon is well organised and well presented and is one of South Africa's best half marathon events. The whole family will enjoy the day out and all the excitement and activities. There are three distances to choose from, the 21.1km half marathon, the 10km and the 5km fun run which is open to the whole family. Most of the routes are straight and are fairly flat with some challenging hills through the suburbs. Walkers are welcome. Races start at 6am sharp.
The half marathon is strictly pre-entries and the entries close a week before the race day. Entries for the 10km and 5km fun run are also pre-entry events but there will be entries available on the race day.
Entry fees:
21.1km - R50
10km - R35
5km - R25
Temporary license - R30
There will be prizes and trophies for half marathon category winners. The first 1 500 pre-entrants to the half marathon and 500 to the 10km will receive sponsored T-shirts. Don't miss out on this well organised and fun event. Mark the date on your calendar.
