Cape Town Festival of Beer

Cape Town Festival of Beer

Imagine a gathering for beer enthusiasts, connoisseurs and those just wanting to learn more about beer. Set against one of the most beautiful backdrops in the Table Mountain and the new Cape Town Stadium at Hamiltons Rugby Club on Green Point Common. And all of this only a short walk from the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront. Well you dont have to imagine you can experience it all at the Cape Town Festival of Beer. The countries largest festival celebrating all things beer is back and as is the case every year, its bigger and better! With world class brewers, local micro breweries, awesome local entertainment, great food and activities it goes without question that you should take three days out of your busy schedule to visit. The 2011 festival will see over twenty breweries, more than fifty different beers and no less than seven different styles of brewing to taste or buy, making it the biggest festival of its type in the Southern Hemisphere.

Whether it's the home brewer whipping up a special batch or the mega brewer, they all have one thing in common and that is a passion for beer that brings them to offer their products on this fantastic platform set in South Africas Mother City. Beer style and category competitions, master classes and gaining a better understanding of the golden liquid is the order of the day teamed with braais (barbeques), lucky draws and taste-offs all in Oktoberfest-style. World class bands and entertainment are on have to ensure that a special time is had by all visitors. The 2011 festival will see breweries from around the world taking part with confirmations received from Camelthorn, Darling, Bavaria, Corona, Carling Black Label, Napier, Jack Black, Paulaner, Mitchells, Castle, Fosters, Erdinger, Liefmans, Oettinger, Cobra, Tiger, Singha, Duvel, Maredsous, Valentines and many more.

Take a line-up of beer tastings, beer sales, lucky draws, brewing demos and competition, kiddies entertainment, braaing competitions, top live entertainment and add a wide variety of food stalls and you have a recipe for a not to be missed festival.
