Capricorn

Capricorn is a modern mixed-use suburb on the southern Cape Peninsula in the City of Cape Town, situated between Muizenberg, Lakeside and the wetlands of the False Bay coastline. Best known for the Capricorn Business Park and its proximity to important conservation areas, the suburb offers a convenient location for visitors wishing to explore the natural beauty of the Cape Peninsula while remaining within easy reach of Cape Town's city centre.

One of Capricorn's greatest attractions is the nearby False Bay Nature Reserve, a protected area comprising wetlands, reed beds and shallow lakes that provide a sanctuary for more than 250 bird species. Birdwatching, photography and peaceful nature walks are popular activities, while the neighbouring Muizenberg Beach is renowned for its colourful beach huts, gentle waves and excellent surfing conditions. Visitors can also explore the scenic hiking trails of Table Mountain National Park or venture to the historic naval town of Simon's Town and the famous African penguin colony at Boulders Beach.

The wider area has long been shaped by the unique ecosystems of the False Bay coastline, where conservation and urban development exist side by side. Today, Capricorn offers an excellent base for discovering the Cape Peninsula's remarkable blend of wetlands, beaches, mountains and wildlife, all within a short drive of Cape Town's many cultural attractions.
