The farm behind Jasmyn, operated by Food Fair Pty Ltd, is the beating heart of this enterprise. Here, a Jersey herd produces fresh milk daily, which is then transformed into creamy yoghurts, rich butter and a variety of handcrafted cheeses. The farm also rotates its vegetable plots, growing everything from cabbages, herbs and edible flowers to pumpkins, watermelons and baby marrows. Nothing goes to waste: surplus produce is turned into jam or pickles, while leftover organic matter returns to the earth, vermicomposted by their own worm farm, helping to nourish the land again.

Beyond the produce, Jasmyn’s pie factory is a highlight not to be missed. They bake a tempting selection of pastries, from cocktail sausage pies to game-filled delicacies, worlded out with a flaky crust that makes them a firm favourite. Together with the jams and cheeses, these rural treats create a culinary tapestry that perfectly captures the essence of Hartbeespoort’s farmstead heritage.
