Posthouse Wine Estate
Hermann Gebers bought a farm in the picturesque area between the towns of Somerset West and Stellenbosch in 1981, only 7km from the False Bay coast. This area falls under the Helderberg area of the Stellenbosch region and is known as one of the best wine producing area s in the world. The winery itself is situated on a ridge and offers panoramic views of Cape Point, False Bay and the surrounding Helderberg Mountains. The homestead on the farm had originally operated as a office, serving the local missionary community of Raithby, and it was after this heritage that it was decided to name the wines produced there, Post House. Nick systematically planted the farm to vine and in 1996 the first barrels were made, it was only after two vintages and a stint of Burgandy that Post House released its first Vintage. The wines are handcrafted with minimal handling and intervention, a process that has lead to a unique level of distinction.

Take the R44 towards Somerset West.
Turn right on to Winery Road (further down the hill after Eikendal)
Turn right on to Raithby Road.
Take the 2nd right which is a dirt road and is sign posted Post House. (It is immediately before the L Auberge restaurant).
The main house and winery are the first buildings up on your left.

Take the N2 towards Somerset West.
Take the Maccassar / Firgrove (exit 38, M9) turn off, which is after the Engen station.
Turn left, go over the traffic lights, over the railway line, and take 2nd left, which is marked Winery Road.
Travel for 3.5km and turn left on to Raithby Road (2nd Raithby road), which is after Omnia winery on your right and 96 Winery Rd on your left.
Take the 2nd right which is a dirt road and is sign posted Post House. (It is immediately before the L Auberge restaurant).
The main house and winery are the first buildings up on your left.
