18 Montpellier Estate - located in a safe, tranquil, green and upmarket neighbourhood in Somerset West, offers 2 self catering options set in a spacious 7000 m2 stand with beautiful mountain views of both the Helderberg and Hottentot Holland mountain range.

Option 1 - Thatch Cottage

Built on a former wine estate, 18 Rue Montpellier is full of history, and this is no more apparent than in the thatched Cape Dutch-style cottage. The cottage itself is around 45 years old and was built in the 80s. 

With its classic/antique furniture, wooden beam-lined ceilings, and stunning wood flooring, you’ll feel enchanted by its rustic and homely vibes. Rustic doesn’t mean dusty – or outdated, as you’ll see in the newly renovated bathrooms, modern amenities, and fully kitted out kitchen. So whether you’d like to cook up a feast or visit a nearby restaurant, there’s lots on offer. 

The house is equipped for all seasons. Come in the winter and you’ll be able to cozy up with a book next to the gas fireplace or simply enjoy a Netflix series on the 40-inch smart TV (international channels are also available). 

In the summer, you can enjoy a quick dip in the cottage’s private pool, take in the incredible mountain vistas on the terrace with vine-adorned columns, and enjoy a BBQ/braai with some fantastic local wine. 

Regardless of your choice, we prioritize your enjoyment, convenience, and peace of mind. Our cottage features complimentary, high-speed WiFi, air conditioning, an alarm system, secure private parking, and an inverter for load shedding. Additionally, our staff can help with luggage upon arrival, and accommodate late arrivals.

Bedrooms
All three bedrooms come with air conditioning, double beds with separate, extra-long 90 x 200 cm matresses, and plenty of cupboard spaces for your clothes.

Bathrooms
The two newly-renovated bathrooms come with showers, baths, sinks and toilets.

Kitchen
The kitchen comes stocked with Bosch appliances, including a dishwasher, a microwave, a washing machine, and a fridge, as well as a Nespresso coffee machine and a filter coffee machine.

Option 2 - The Lodge

The Lodge Apartment is fully self-catering and has its own entrance. On the ground floor we have the entrance and living area.

From the terrace at the front, you have a beautiful view over the Hottentots Holland Mountain range and the Helderberg mountain.

It has a separate fully-equipped kitchen, living and open-plan dining area. It’s got one bedroom, a bathroom with shower and basin with cupboard and toilet.

Living area
On the inside, you’ll find a cozy living room with couch, chairs, flat-screen television with local and international TV channels. There’s also air-conditioning. 

Outside area
On the outside, there’s a large terrace with a small grass area, two chairs, a coffee table and an umbrella. There’s also safe, off-street parking in a private garage. 

Bedroom
The one bedroom has a double bed with two separate, extra-long mattresses (90 x 200 cm). There’s also air-conditioning. 

Kitchen
The kitchen is fully equipped with a dishwasher, fridge/freezer combo, a microwave, a washing machine, an electric stove and oven, a toaster, a kettle, a nespresso coffee machine and plenty of crockery and cutlery.
