Summerstrand is a beachfront suburb of Port Elizabeth, just 10 minutes drive from the city centre. Walk to Pollock beach or to the Boardwalk Casino, entertainment and restaurant complex from Summerstrand. The complex has been built on a series of manmade lakes and beautiful gardens, lit at night with thousands of Tivoli lights. Summerstrand is also well placed to visit the local University and Technikon and the Humewood golf course, one of the world's most challenging link courses.
Port Elizabeth, set along the beautiful shores of Algoa Bay, is known as a water sports destination and, because of its mild winters and limited rainfall, even surfing and boarding are practised all year. The combination of eco-attractions and adventure make PE a great holiday destination, yet, despite this, she remains one of South Africa's best kept secrets. Port Elizabeth is also close to a number of local National Parks and malaria free game farms. The city has ten long, golden beaches, the 4th best weather in the world.
Summerstrands accommodation review for Pine Lodge Holiday Resort in Summerstrand.
While my husband was doing business in the Port Elizabeth CBD, the kids and I stayed at the Pine Lodge Holiday Resort,in Summerstrand, Eastern Cape.
We stayed in one of the 3 star chalets, with the Cape Recife Nature Reserve on one side, and the Port Elizabeth beachfront on the other. Ideally the on-site restaurant was open until late, with a wide variety of treats on offer. The kids also enjoyed hours of entertainment in the well equipped games-room,on those Eastern Cape bad weather days
Although there's a wide variety of Port Elizabeth self catering accommodation around, we chose well with the Summerstrand Pine Lodge Resort
