Pelikan Park

Pelikan Park is a residential suburb near Grassy Park in Cape Town’s southern suburbs, situated close to the False Bay coastline and the important wetland environments of the Cape Flats. Known for its community atmosphere and convenient location, the area provides easy access to coastal attractions, nature reserves and cultural experiences throughout the southern peninsula.

The suburb is well placed for exploring nearby natural treasures. The Rondevlei Nature Reserve, one of Cape Town’s most significant urban wetlands, is close by and offers visitors the chance to enjoy birdwatching, walking trails and views of indigenous wildlife, including the reserve’s famous hippopotamus population. The neighbouring Zeekoevlei Nature Reserve is another popular destination, providing opportunities for canoeing, sailing, fishing and enjoying the peaceful wetland landscape.

The nearby Strandfontein coastline offers beautiful sea views, tidal pools and opportunities for coastal walks, while the False Bay area is renowned for seasonal whale watching and spectacular sunsets.

Pelikan Park reflects the character of Cape Town’s southern suburbs, where urban communities exist alongside important natural habitats. Its location makes it a useful base for discovering the wetlands, coastline and outdoor attractions of the False Bay region.
