Hazyview Holidays - Kruger National Park & Lowveld Tourism, Mpumalanga
Situated on the banks of the picturesque Sabie River, Hazyview is the most convenient jumping off point for your Kruger Park safari, by far the most important game reserve in Southern Africa, certainly one of the best places in the world to see the Big Five, as this vast area harbours 147 species of mammal, over 500 bird species and 336 species of trees. (Hazyview is just 16km from the Kruger Park Numbi Gate, and 12km from Kruger Park Phabeni Gate)
Hazyview is also an ideal base from which to explore many of Mpumalanga's famous points of interest, such as the Blyde River Canyon (part of the Greater Drakensberg Escarpment), which features the dramatic rock formations of the 'Three Rondavels', the 'Pinnacle', and 'Bourke's Luck Potholes' - an amazing geological wonder of cylindrical rock sculptures that have been shaped over millennia by the swirling waters where the Mpumalanga Treur River meets the Blyde River.
Hazyview, Mpumalanga derives its name from the shimmering haze that lingers over the eastern Lowveld in summertime, and because of the sultry sub-tropical climate, Hazyview is renowned for growing the best bananas in the world, tropical fruit, which include litchis and mangoes, as well as coffee, for which the Mpumalanga, Lowveld is widely known. The coffee lover will enjoy the Sabie Valley Coffee Tour just 10km outside Hazyview. Here guests can experience the coffee making process from tree to cup, then are treated to superb, aromatic coffee, along with a slice of delicious chocolate cake!
Then for the beer lover, don't miss out on The Brewery and Summerfields Kitchen, where they brew their own beer, and where farm style hospitality meets gourmet country cuisine.
The adventurer will love the many activities on offer in and around Hazyview - from relaxed to the more extreme, there's something for everyone who loves the great outdoors.
- Zip slide over the natural forested valleys along the Mpumalanga, Sabie River.
- Microlight across the Sabie Valley farmlands.
- Helicopter ride over the Hazyview Lisbon Falls, Berlin Falls, Mac-Mac Falls and God's Window.
- River tube down the Sabie River.
- Hot air balloon over the colourful Mpumalanga countryside.
- Game drive in Kruger Park.
- Interact with elephants at Elephant Whispers.
As well as quad bike riding, abseiling, horse riding, kloofing, mountain biking, hiking, caving, and for the less adventurous, golfing on one of three scenic and challenging golf courses in town along the Sabie River.

"Situated in the town of Hazyview, right alongside the Kruger National Park, we highly recommend Sabi (Sabie) River Bungalows to any timeshare enthusiasts who are interested in visiting, and game drives in the Kruger Park, or playing golf on the great Sabi River Bungalaows golf course.
Surprisingly this is an 18 hole golf course which is REALLY testy - tons of water holes (including a hippo pool) and beautifully manicured fairways. We chose to only have breakfast in the hotel because there is an abundance of great restaurants in the immediate area. Timeshare self catering guests are spoilt with the easy access to large shopping centres and supermarkets in and around Sabie (Sabi).
The days were great and the desperately chilly nights were sorted out through cabin fireplaces.......what a treat.
We'd already had an extensive trip through the Kruger Park, saw stacks of animals such as elephant, rhino, antelope, hippos etc and chose not to do another day visit.
All in all, smart accommodation, squash courts, tennis courts, laundry, restaurant, golf facilities, shopping in Hazy View and easy access to Kruger National Park made this an ideal destination....especially for the winter months.
Now on our way to play golf at the famous Leopard Creek - Yay!!"
