Doornpoort is a beautiful suburb in Gauteng and is a lovely holiday destination with many nearby attractions for the whole family.

Attractions:
The Wonderboom Nature Reserve is a must see while on holiday in Doornpoort, it is a 1000 year old fig tree on the slopes of the Magaliesberg. The trunk of the tree is over 5meters thick and is known to have been a hide out or shelter for the tribe who live there. You will also enjoy the hikes up the hill and enjoy the spectacular view from the top. Another interesting visit for the whole family is the Pioneer Museum in Silverton which was established in 1846. Here you can enjoy and experience how the farmers lived in those days. You can try your hand at wheat grinding, bread making, coffee roasting, candle making and milking. An experience not to be missed.

Climate:
Doornpoort is in Gauteng and enjoys a warm to hot summer months with most rainfall as afternoon thunderstorms with cool to very cold winter evenings with temperatures dropping considerably in the evenings.
