Marloth Nature Reserve

This rugged section of the Langeberg mountain range contains a rich tapestry of flora characteristic of the region. The lower slopes and ravines contain the last remaining pockets of majestic yellowwood and stinkwood forests that once covered these mountains.

As you ascend the slopes, the forest gives way to mountain fynbos, with it's colourful displays of erica and proteas.

Hikers and mountaineers will find the 5 day 76 km Swellendam Hiking Trail both challenging and rewarding - not for the feint-hearted.
