The Barrydale Country Fair
Barrydale is described as an earthly fragment of paradise, nestled in the folds of the majestic Langeberg Mountains, and each year during September this beautiful little town plays host to the Barrydale Country Fair which grows each year in content and popularity. Barrydale is a town that prides itself in its lekker locals, appetizing art and fantastic fresh homemade produce.
During the fair weekend there will be tractor rides on offer which take visitors on guided tours around the town, visiting local shops, restaurants and studios, where there will be a variety of entertainment, activities and specials to keep them busy. The tour is not set but allows passengers to hop on and off wherever and whenever they like, giving visitors the opportunity to complete the tour at their own pace.
The village green in the centre of town will play host to a craft market and food stalls while the lawns of the NG Church will bustle with childrens entertainment, jumping castles, games, face painting and much much more.
Each year the streets of Barrydale are graced with a parade of vintage
cars, floats, and motorbikes. Other activities include a downhill soap-box cart race, the Spring Flower Show, a beer tent with live entertainment, an inter-village potjie-kos competition final, wine-tasting, luxury picnics, farm tours, quad-biking, family 4x4 trips, pit-bikes for the kids, a street party, a fun run, and much more. With the evenings entertainment featuring music from popular local bands and a street party that will keep everyone on their toes!
