Hantam House
Hantam House is situated in Willinston in Calvinia in the Northern Cape, South Africa. Hantam House was declared a National Monument in 1983. It is a very popular venue amongst locals and visitors and is the oldest house in Calvinia. This building was built in 1854 and was designed in a T shape. Today it is home to a museum and curio shop on the one side and on the other side, a licensed restaurant.

The interior and exterior of this house have been beautifully restored and nothing is out of place. The warm, authentic and charming atmosphere is inviting.

The restaurant received a special award from Diners Club for being in the top 100 restaurants in South Africa. Here the meals are served from early morning to late evenings. Every meal cooked to perfection and a delicious choice of home made traditional recipes to elegant dinners by candlelight. This is an experience not to be missed. Come and enjoy the best of both. A museum filled with history and great stories and an award winning restaurant.
