Daureb isib means "view the Brandberg" in the Damara language. This campsite is named Daureb isib because it is situated in the foothills of the mighty Brandberg mountain (the highest mountain in Namibia) and enjoys a magnificent view of the Brandberg.
The campsite consists of five private sites designed to give comfort and camping friendliness. Each site has its own shower, toilet, kitchenette and barbeque; shaded parking and space for two tents. Hot and cold water is provided by a gas geyser.
Each site has 220V/50hz single phase electricity.
There is a communal swimming pool and lapa for relaxation and group get togethers.
Security is a high priority in the site management. The entire area is fenced within an enclosed estate and random patrols are conducted throughout the night hours.
Campers are expected to respect the privacy and peacefulness of other campers. Loud music, rowdiness and behaviour that can be seen to be a nuisance to other campers is not allowed.
Campers are reminded that they are sharing the desert with natural inhabitants, flora and fauna. There are insects, snakes, scorpions, rabbits, hares, birds etc who also live in the area and campers should always be on the lookout for them when walking around the site. These animals do not want confrontation and naturally keep out of the way. Many are nocturnal. The site is landscaped with desert plants and campers must be aware that many plants have thorns - be careful!.
The swimming pool may only be used by campers. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Dogs are allowed but must be kept under control.
Thank you for choosing to stay at Daureb Isib camp site. We hope you will stay longer and come again. We welcome constructive criticism and will endeavour to remedy any complaint. This is a new campsite and we want it to be perfect for you.
Campers and their guests make use of this facility at their own risk. Daureb isib Campsite and its owners do not accept liability for any injury, damage to property nor loss of property.
