80km from Durban - on the sub-tropical Dolphin Coast, Gateway to Zululand, is the magnificent Nature Conservancy of Zinkwazi - a unique coastal eco-experience of endless golden beaches, lush indigenous forests, and 8 kilometres of untouched lagoon. The Zulus called it Zinkwazi, the home of Fish Eagles, and their haunting cry is still part of the magic.

At Zinkwazi Lagoon Lodge we try to let you experience the magic of our unique environment as closely as possible. You are constantly surrounded by the amazing bird song of the tropical forest, the tranquility of the calm waters of the magnificent lagoon, the tropical setting of a great variety of palms, and the constant roar of the Indian Ocean surf in the background. Our balmy, subtropical climate encourages an open air, 'alfresco' lifestyle.

Our chalets are three bedrooms and are self – catering. The main bedroom has a double bed, and the other two rooms have two single beds each, lounge , fully equipped Kitchen built-in braai on the patio.

Each hotel suite features a double bed with an en-suite bathroom , air con and TV. Please note that the rooms do not have a fridge or microwave, but they do include tea-making facilities.

Zinkwazi Forest Camp is a unique eco Camp Site for the whole family, set in a riverine forest it caters for all the needs of caravaners and campers.

Bed & Breakfast and Dinner options are available on site. All meals are served a la carte at the Raffia dining room or by choice on the open sundeck. We specialise in fresh fish dishes and spicy local curries. Special theme evenings are organised in the tropical Boma, surrounded by palms, whilst sundowners are enjoyed at the elevated Isifonya Pub & Sundeck, overlooking a wetland and the lagoon.

Experience a host of activities. Catch the Ferry to the magnificent protected Beach or join a Cruise on the Lagoon aboard the Fish Eagle. Indulge in some breathtaking Bird spotting (over 250 species) or simply relax under the tropical palms. For Golf enthusiasts there are a host of courses to choose from. Birdwatchers can explore numerous hotspots and for the energetic there are Eco Trails on foot, by canoe or off-road as well as boating, swimming, surfing, volleyball or tennis. Zinkwazi is close to a wealth of splendid Game Reserves, Cultural Attractions and Historical Sites, as well as all that metropolitan Durban has to offer.
