Trompsburg is a small, tranquil sheep farming town in the Freestate which was founded in 1891. It has a warm, friendly atmosphere and is almost halfway between Gauteng and the Cape.

Trompsburg is in the Freestate which enjoys a moderate climate with hot to very hot summer months with most rainfall as thunderstorms and cool to very cold, dry winter months.
