Nestled on a 100-hectare working fruit farm at the foot of the majestic Skurweberge Mountains, Fairfield Cottages offers a peaceful countryside escape in the heart of the Ceres Valley. Each self-catering cottage enjoys sweeping mountain views, while vine-covered verandas provide the perfect setting for sunset drinks as the peaks glow in the evening light or the full moon rises above the valley.

Every season brings its own charm. Winter transforms the landscape with snow-capped mountains and crystal-clear streams, while spring blankets the orchards in delicate pink and white blossoms, complemented by colourful wildflowers. Summer is ideal for exploring the farm's many outdoor activities, and autumn paints nearby Ceres, just 6 km away, in rich golden and amber hues.

Guests can enjoy hiking, mountain biking, fishing, canoeing and birdwatching, all without leaving the farm. Fairfield is also home to abundant fynbos, local wildlife, a small herd of horses and two friendly resident dogs who delight in welcoming visitors. Best of all, the cottages are pet-friendly, allowing four-legged family members to enjoy the adventure too.

Fynbos Cottage (sleeps up to 12).

Klipspringer Cottage (sleeps 6)

- THE OUTSIDE VICTORIAN BATH AND SHOWER IS A FIRM FAVOURITE - 

The Klipspringer self catering accommodation consists of an open plan kitchen and living area with a fire hearth and DSTV. It has three bedrooms and a bunk bed suitable for a child. For the adventurous there is a second bathroom outside, boasting a tree shower (with hot water), basin, and toilet.
Outside under the towering pine trees is a braai area on the lawn with a little stream running past in winter. Children can enjoy the tree swing and the swimming pool is 50m away.

Mountain Spring self-catering accommodation consists of an open plan kitchen and living area, with a comfortable double sleeper couch. For rainy days in winter, there is a fireplace in the living area. The spacious porch with built in braai area has a spectacular view of the mountains. For the adventurous there is an outside bath tucked away behind the rocks with hot water and breathtaking surroundings.

Whispering Pines cabin (sleeps 2)

- FUNKY HOT TUB, BRAAI AREA AND CHILL-OUT ZONE UNDER THE TREES -

This cosy little cabin is located on a wildflower meadow between the whispering pines overlooking the pear orchards of a working farm.  It’s a 2 sleeper open plan setting, consisting of a bedroom & seating area with a fireplace, a fully equipped kitchen, and a bathroom consisting of a shower and toilet.  The outside patio, with its view of the orchard, is perfect for sunrise. It also sports a funky hot tub, braai area, and chill-out zone under the trees. Relax & unwind while the large pine trees provide a serene backdrop with a rustling breeze and bird calls throughout the day.  The cabin runs on solar power and has fast internet with Netflix.  To make your visit extra special, we provide some locally produced goodies in the cabin, and the hot tub can be prewarmed on request!

Activities on the Farm

- OF ALL THE CERES ACCOMMODATION OPTIONS, WE HAVE THE WIDEST VARIETY -

• Walking, jogging or mountain biking - Explore the orchards or single track along the foot of the mountain.
• Hiking - Stroll along on the two well marked Orchard Routes that follow the farm roads. Alternatively, put on a pair of hiking boots and go explore the 3 rocky mountain routes. There are two sites with rock paintings very close to the cottages with breathtaking views of Ceres Valley and its pink mountains at sunset.
• Fairfield Dams - Our big dam with the clubhouse is ideal for skiing & rowing. Bring your own boat or use our paddle skis and canoes. The smaller dam with its clear water is great for bass fishing and snorkeling. Be on the lookout for our winter trout fishing opening soon!
• Swimming pool and swing - Pool with loungers and shaded lawn between the self catering cottages.
• Wildlife - You will run into the Duiker and Klipspringer families roaming between the cottages. Also be on the lookout for fish eagle, hadeda, mongoose, meerkat, geese, guinea-fowl, pheasants, owls and numerous other species of birdlife. At night the Caracals can be heard calling up in the mountains. Please don’t feed any animal on the property.
