In the foothills of the mighty Swartberg mountains, on the banks of the the Groot River, Avondrust farm is a beautiful working farm offering you a memorable farm stay in this breathtaking scenery.
Accommodation consists of 2 self-catering cottages (old farm houses): Môreson Cottage and Ebeneser Cottage.
Môreson Cottage has 3 bedrooms and one double with en-suite bathroom. The other 2 bedrooms (one double and one with 2 single beds) share a family bathroom. In addition to this, you can enjoy the farm kitchen, a spacious living room and an old-fashioned sun-room.
Ebeneser Cottage sleeps 4 and offers you one double bedroom and one twin bedroom. Ensuite bathroom with shower and is shared by both rooms. There is a quaint kitchen-dining room and a living room. This cottage boasts a fantastically spacious wooden deck with spectacular views of the Swartberg Mountains.
Both houses have braai facilities. Wood can be supplied on request.
Both cottages are accessed by good farm roads (Ebeneser Cottage is 800m from the tar and Môreson Cottage is 1.8 km from the tar road).
All bedding, towels, crockery, cutlery and self-catering requirements are supplied.
Guests are free to walk on the farm, go hiking in the hills, cycle the farms roads and go bass fishing in the dams. There is a whole network of farm roads to enjoy. For the more adventurous, ask about the spectacular 20km road up to the mountain dam.
We are situated 50km from Prince Albert and 7km from the scenic Meiringspoort.
