HorseAbout trails and horseback adventures
We offer magnificent horse trails and activities in the Western Cape. Just over
an hour from Cape Town, situated in the majestic Witzenberg Valley, we are
conveniently located between the towns of Tulbagh, Wolseley and Ceres.
Join us to experience a soul-restoring horseback adventure, suitable for all
levels and abilities. Our trail rides can be tailored to suit everyone. From
supervised pony rides for the little ones to half day and full day trails.
If you enjoy more active horseback adventures, or would like to advance your
riding skills, ask about our riding lessons, gymkhana and speed event training.
Our spectacular Sunset and Moonlight trail rides are not to be missed.
If you are celebrating a special event or just a great day out, let us arrange a
delicious picnic as part of your horseback outing.
We offer various horse riding trail options which can include local wine
tastings, sample award winning olive oils and possibly a delectable chocolate
tasting to sweeten your way. Or simply join us for a leisurely horseback meander
while you ride amongst fynbos, vineyards and working farms.
Trust, respect and discipline are vital elements in any partnership and form the
essential foundations of our training methods with our horses.
Our horses live as naturally as possible in a herd environment and large
paddocks with lots of space to move, as nature intended. A lack of confinement,
living within a herd hierarchy and correct handling ensures willing and trusting
partners.
Our group sizes are small (max of 8 people with 2 guides) allowing us to give
each guest personalised attention throughout the ride.
Safety for both horse and rider are our priorities which is why we need to know
about your riding experience, weight and height.
All our horse riding trails include instruction and helmets.
