Witgatboom Bush Camp is a self catering getaway located on a private malaria-free Nature Reserve 11 km outside Mookgophong (Naboomspruit). The Bush Camp mainly caters for small groups, couples and families. The Camp offers an intimate atmosphere and personalized guest experience.

The reserve boasts a multitude of wildlife including many plains game species and an enviable diversity of birdlife. Our primary objective is conservation through breeding projects and maintaining natural habitats. We are privileged to share this magnificent environment surrounding us with our guests.

The Camp consists of 4 x 2-sleeper Chalets, 1 x 5-sleeper Family unit and 2 x 4-sleeper Wooden Houses, suitable for only 2 Adults and 2 children, as well as an enclosed Lapa, all conveniently located around the large communal Boma. There is also a smaller Boma between the 2 Wooden Houses. Paved paths connect all the units and the pool area. The Camp can host a maximum of 21 guests and can be booked exclusively or non-exclusively.

All units are fully equipped for self-catering.

Guests have the opportunity to make use of the following activities - Day and night game drives, guided forest walks, wildlife photography, bird watching, walking and swimming. Children can experience nature in a safe way and are encouraged to participate in these activities.

Hunting:

Witgatboom reserve offers exclusive hunting opportunities for all plains game species on our pricelist. Both Bow and Crossbow are allowed. Hunting may be done by walk and stalk with our guides or from a hide. Five permanent blinds are available for bow hunting, ranging from elevated to pit blinds. A minimum draw weight of 50lbs is required for plains game hunting in South Africa.

Although the reserve has full exemption to hunt all year, we limit our hunting season from 1 May to 31 August to avoid hunting during the hot summer months and season when young are born.

Hunting is a controlled activity and it is essential to make prior reservations to ensure that the opportunity is not missed.
