Volmoed Cottage was renovated by our family with the idea to use as a week-end break-away. We have a busy life with four young children. The task seemed impossible at first. The cottage is more than a hundred years old. Crooked doors and off centre walls is part of the beauty of this little house.

It is perfectly safe here and we do not even lock our doors. This house is my family’s favourite place and I would like to share it with you. There is cable TV….something I did not want, but had to give in to for watching Sport. Relax here and enjoy your loved ones!

About Volmoed Cottage

Only 8 km outside Oudtshoorn,in the Garden Route’s Klein Karoo, you will find this cosy self -catering cottage. With its rustic vintage style this cottage offers the perfect family hide away .For couples the shower under the stars offers a unique experience to watch the ostriches on the farm from inside your shower.

We offer accommodation for 6 people. Our main bedroom with one double bed is decorated in vintage Karoo Style. The family bedroom offers one double bed and one set of bunker beds. This room sleeps 4.

The rustic bathroom has a beautiful vintage bath and basins with toilet. You can enter the “magic” shower from the bathroom backdoor.

Romantic evenings on the Stoep overlooking the Outeniqua and Swartberg Mountains can be perfected by enjoying a glass of The Klein Karoo’s famous Ruby Port.

The area offers spectacular views. Go out hiking or biking and opt for bird-watching where more than 160 bird species can be spotted.
