Vaalwater

Vaalwater is situated approximately 60 km from the edge of the Waterberg plateau, close to the Moloko River. In 1925 the town was joined to the main railway network and it sparked a huge celebration. More than 1500 people undertook the journey from Modimolle (Nylstroom) to Vaalwater.

Architecture in the town of Vaalwater includes churches designed by the famous sir Herbert Baker, who also designed the Union Buildings in Pretoria. The Hans Strijdom Dam (Mokolo) and Nature Reserve lies to the north west of the town.

Accommodation in the Vaalwater area includes thatched self-catering chalets and some lodges on private game reserves. Facilities include airport transfers, braai/barbeque facilities, fireplaces, laundry facilities, satellite TV and a wheelchair friendly environment.

Activities in the Vaalwater area include bird and game watching, game drives, night drives, horse riding, an outdoor pool to cool down in during the hot summer months, fireplaces for the chilly nights, Elephant safari's, horseback riding, infant facilities, nature trails, 4x4 trails and mountain biking.
