Misty Cliffs, on the way to Cape Point in Cape Town  © Hbimages , Dreamstime Stock Photos & Stock Free Images

Misty Cliffs

Misty Cliffs, aptly named due to the amount of mist experienced in this little hamlet, is a conservation village on the Cape Peninsula, surrounded by the Table Mountain National Park and Baskloof Private Nature Reserve – supporting a unique and important variety of flora and fauna. Misty Cliffs is only 15 minutes from Cape Point Reserve en route to Scarborough past Kommetjie and has a wonderful remote and tranquil atmosphere. Impact on the environment has been kept to a minimum and the views over the Atlantic are superlative.

Misty Cliffs is a popular surfing spot although waves can get notoriously huge. Local surfers tend to take along an extra fin as the rocks can zap this vital appendage. The area around Misty Cliffs offers walking, hiking, mountain biking, boating, crayfishing, diving and sightings of some rare and endangered wildlife, such as the black eagle and various owls. Misty Cliffs is close to Simon’s Town, with its wonderful boutique and café lined main road and to Boulders Beach and its penguin colony.
