Mafikeng

Mahikeng, formerly and still commonly known as Mafikeng and historically Mafeking in English, is the capital city of the North-West Province of South Africa. Mafikeng is well known for its history during the Second Boer War when the town was besieged, this was called the Siege of Mafikeng and lasted for 217 days.

Attractions:
The Mafikeng Game Reserve is one of many typical African getaways in the bushveld where you will get to see the awesome wildlife in their natural habitat like the buffalo, giraffe, springbok, zebra and the white rhino. Another attraction that Mafikeng has to offer is the Mmabatho Stadium which is a multi purpose stadium but more commonly used for many football matches. While visiting Mafikeng you must not miss the beautiful Leopard Park Golf Club which offers a challenging game, with water coming into play on a few of the holes.

Climate:
Mafikeng enjoys warm to very hot summer months with most rainfall as afternoon thunderstorms and cool to very cold winter months with temperatures dropping in the evenings.
