Sammy Marks Museum

Samuel Marks was a South African entrepreneur who between 1880 and 1920 was a leading figure in the industrial and agricultural development of the former Transvaal.

The Sammy Marks Museum Complex consists of the main mansion, it's gardens and outbuildings,. The museum also incorporates parts of the original farm at Zwartkoppies, including the stables and coach-house, the cowshed, a wine-cellar and the 5 Victorian cottages used by his staff.

The mansion, which Sammy Marks named Zwartkoppies Hall, is surrounded by a beautiful Victorian garden. Guided tours are conducted every 90 minutes.

After the tour you may wish to relax in the Victorian Tea Garden, or even indulge yourself with a real Victorian picnic.
