Deep in the valley between the Quado Mountain Range and the Hex River Mountain Range lies a beautiful, tranquil oasis, The Hex River Valley. The valley is known to many as the "Gateway to the Cape" and is the largest producer of table grapes in South Africa. The valley is not only known for its grapes but also the wine that is produced there, and many people detour off main routes through the valley just to taste the wines, which will soon carry the Hex River Valley WO label once the valley is registered as a wine district. Visitors to the Hex River valley also enjoy walking the vineyards and taking the Culture & Heritage tour.
