We wanted to get away from the frantic pre-Christmas city rush with the whole family including my UK-based son and his first-visit-to africa grlfriend. There were 8 adults and 2 children. The lodge is spectacular. Huge rooms, each with their own en-suite bathroom and all really beautifully furnished. The main lodge area is HUGE with a massive kitchen and all amenities (including a most welcome ice machine). The lounge area which has a real 'Old Africa' theme, even had a great table-tennis table which naturally evolved into a 3 day family challenge! A huge dining table made for perfect family meals. The Lodge is quite spread out which gives an pleasant expansive feel to it. A large braai pit and built-in braai with lots of quality camp chairs made for pleasant evenings out. The spectacular pool and pool deck area was our saviour in the pre-Christmas heat wave, where we spent most of the days, apart from early morning and evening game drives.

Overall a wonderful 3 day get-away, perfect for larger families, with space for everyone and everything.
