A Valentines weekend to remember with a theme to welcome you! The friendly and accommodating owners, the ever assisting gardener and the lovable furry friends gifted us with a tranquil experience to recharge and relax in a serenely beautifully kept environment with all amenities and accessories of high quality, where you could securely sleep with doors open, safely launch your boat and explore the Loch and Vaal river. Docking facilities are of exceptional standard. A 306km round trip from Pretoria was definitely worth it in every respect.
Thank you Michélé and Dave, Dave the landscape specialist as well as Les, Jeff and Mufasa's little friend. We miss Loch Vaal Cottage already.

We had a wonderful stay. Even though the fishing was a bit slow at the beginning, it honestly didn’t bother us because the guest house was fantastic and had everything we needed (and more). The host is an amazing lady, and we would highly recommend this spot to anyone wanting a peaceful getaway not too far from JHB. Definitely worth it!

We was visit Loch Vaal Cottage last weekend and the place was nice, clean and a nice breakaway from the normal day life and the fishing was nice and the cutest dogs on the premises. The people was friendly and always asking how is our stay.

What a great place. A family home away from home. The cottage is very neat, well taken care of and pristine, with well manicured lawns, right up to the river front. Michele is an excellent host, keeping in touch with us at all times to ensure our stay was memorable and that all our needs were met. Mary and David were also very helpful as the onsite staff. Fishing was excellent. Love the place so much that we stayed an extra day. We will definitely be back. I fully recommend Loch Vaal Cottage for a family getaway. I also compliment their honesty for securing my daughter's necklace, which was found after we left. It's a very special family heirloom, which has been secured for us to collect. We had a wonderful time, Very neat and Comfortable unit, if you just want to relax and unwind this place will definitely do this, my 11 year old son slept outside first night of arrival, this was a nice experience for him, we all enjoyed the fishing, especially my 9 year old daughter, the waterfront fishing area is amazing, with grass till upon the waterfront, not a lot of places have this, Michèlè and Mary made sure we are comfortable and everything was in order, Will definitely recommend Loch Vaal Cottage

Everything was just AMAZING from the house till the fishing. I would definitely recommend your place to anyone with or without kids.
My boy enjoyed the dogs & the play area so much - he was very sad when we had to go home.

The price per night is also AMAZING. You don't get such a beautiful place for that price.

Hope to soon visit this place again.

Last minute booking, grandsons wanted to go fishing, we found the best accommodation, everything was neat and tidy, beds comfortable, fresh linen and we had the best weekend away from home in a long time. The gardens are manicured and the hosts was so friendly and helpful. If you get lucky, Dave might take you on a heavenly cruise in his speedboat. You have a private area to fish from and my grandsons loved it and we will definately make our second trip soon. God bless you Dave n Michele

The unit is spotless and has all amenities you need plus more. Lapa just as comfortable. Close to the river and private. Access to river at your own launch site and use of on river boathouse for parking boat at night. The only thing that exceeds the comfort of the unit is the friendliness and hospitality of the hosts Dave and Michele and their 3 beautiful and well behaved dogs that guarded us. Thank you for a great weekend.

Our second time staying at the cottage - it is a very relaxing weekend away with the family. The cottage is comfortable, neat and well equipped. Easy access to the water, big green lawn and nice braai-area.

I feel like not sharing how nice it was to stay at Lochvaal Cottage 2 as too many people would then book it and it will not be available to me as often as I am planning to return. Take note it is meant for people wanting access to the water.
Excellent place. Well priced. You would have to book long in advance to secure.

We had a wonderful stay and enjoyed our lovely weekend there! The view was beautiful. Thanks to Michele and the rest of the family we all felt welcome and enjoyed our stay.
The cottage and braai area was very neat and everything we wanted for a weekend away and more.
Will definitely go back again!

We really enjoyed our stay. The cottage is everything you need and more. Safe, comfortable, neat and well equipped, from the bathroom, bedrooms kitchen, lounge and braai area.

We have stayed at many self- catering lodges and have come across some dodgy places but I can honestly say that we were not let down this time. We will definitely recommend you to anyone! Thanks again for a wonderful stay.

WE HAD A WONDERFUL STAY, THE VIEW WAS AWESOME AND WE HAD A GREAT TIME ,THE COTTAGE WAS VERY NEAT AND THE BRAAI FACILITIES,WE WILL ABSOLUTELY GO BACK AGAIN .
