  • Interesting Place Accommodation
    Why is your establishment interesting?
Our accom. rests on the shores of the Vaal Dam, Gauteng’s biggest dam, dubbed central SA's 'land-locked sea'! It’s no ‘puddle’, it’s a fully-fledged conservancy, 20-times bigger than Harties! Built 1938, the wall was raised twice and is 63.4m high with 64 gates, the dam's’s waters so vast that when sailing through the confluence, past the island–yes we do have one – you can’t see any land on the horizon! So instead of spending your bucks on toll gates when driving to the sea, save it for your stay-just an hour away from Jhb! The dam’s water is pristine and full of fish! It’s fresh and inviting to swim in so embark upon endless water adventures - no Bilharzia here, of course not, we supply Gauteng with its drinking water! We have dozens of species of fish, 60-plus species of inland, water birds (including flamingo occasionally) and 7 species of grass – not including the recreational one which is ubiquitous in town!

Spring down to the Vaal Dam waterfront, at Vaal Delta, this festive season with weather perfect and still catch some great specials before Xmas and after New Year.

Longer stays, lounging in the sun in the jacuzzi or at the waterfront, attract extra benefits over Xmas and New Year with lots of activities for the Kids!

Get free access to our pure, wide waters of the Vaal Dam and South Bay to: swim - yes, it's safe; fish - catch bass weighing over 25kgs; boat - motor, barge or yacht; or simply sunbath from our waterfront apartments, just 100m from the shoreline.

We're only an hour away from Jhb. by road and a stone's throw from VDBP, Sasolburg and Heidelberg!

We're so close-by to Gauteng that you can be packed and ready to join us after work of to go straight to work from your holiday break - at the same time that you usually idle away in the city traffic!

(Or commute to work through the countryside – if you must - while your family enjoys their annual breakaway:)

APARTMENTS WITH PRIVATE JACUZZIS AND POOL TABLE OPTIONS, INCLUDING DELICIOUS ALL-DAY BREAKFASTS (optional from the Sisters Dam Pub @ Vaal Delta fully licensed restaurant). Dine in, eat out and/or self-cater (we do deliver).

FISHING PERMITS are available for individuals, families and groups. Fish by night and day, fish away hubby while wife watches with joy from your own, private jacuzzi!

----------------------------------------------------------

Introducing Vaal Delta at the Vaal Dam! Self-drive & Self-cater in Safety! Cook or braai yourself or splash out with our dinner, bed and breakfast special packages - to celebrate the new, out-door Sisters Dam Pub.

Just an hour by road from Jhb., the Vaal Dam is Gauteng's 'land-locked sea', its shores defining the center of the Vaal Triangle and borders of Free State and Mpumalanga.

Swim, sunbathe, boat or spot the biggest population of inland, waterbirds!

Yes, our water is clean, bilharzia-free and supplies our biggest metros with their drinking water. And the Dam ‘flushes’ the lower, Vaal River and Barrage (Vereeniging, VDBP and Sasolburg), so don’t get the Dam confused with those, reportedly, polluted places!

Vaal Delta is in Deneysville itself but right at the water's edge, away from the CBD. We sit on stunning views of South Bay and the original Lake Deneys and offer you water access!

Our Sisters Dam Pub (fully licensed), is adjacent to the property and services the units (D/B&B) or self-catering!

Rest and relaxation await you with waters wide and space endless across our 31 000sqm parkland over-which the apartments look!

----------------------------------------------------------

We offer a variety of configurations to suite all at our modest complex right on the shores of the Vaal Dam. Self-catering and dinner BnB are available to couples and both small and large groups or families getting together at our Vaal Waterfront, Deneysville.

With action aplenty you won't fall short of activities to keep you busy. Fish by day, swim or take a boat trip or safari cruise on our aqua uber. Or, if you are a skipper, self-sail round the island - yes there is one, 7km long! Alternatively, we can arrange the Party Boat for you - taking up to 30 people (3 hours on the water).

We organize events, firewalking, all-day braais and beach bashes are back-to-back at the bar.

Indoors, aside from our, unique wide-open views of the water, we offer jacuzzis, pamper zones and games rooms - all for your exclusive and private use.

Our accommodation is diverse with different configurations suitable for visitors be they couples, families or groups. The apartments are on the second and third floor elevation so there are some steps, but the views are unequalled at the Vaal Dam.

Rooming options include large and small penthouses, each of which boast vast views of South Bay (the original Lake Deneys), as well as water access, (one of a handful of establishments that offers prize positions at the dam at no extra cost or effort)!

Following the rains, the water is brimming! And the flamingos are back, together with gulls, terns; fish-eagles, are among the 60 water bird species which populate the dam - and counting. They're in their element as the ecology favours their breeding and eating patterns. And fishing is rife!

Simply walk down to our gardens and into the park to fish, sun-bathe or swim, pick-nick or boat - or even go island spotting as the rainy season subsides.

Leave from our property and return to a neighbouring marina within walking distance. (We'll take care of the heavy stuff, or you can be ferried back with the skipper or driver.)

Have a braai while you watch the yachts sail by.

Cozy Corner
Ideal for couples, this corner apartment offers an intimate, double bedroom (self-catering). Strictly for two's Cozy Corner is available with its own, inter-leading jacuzzi room, with retractable roof, and bush shower and a 180-degree view over the water.

Pamper yourselves for the duration of your stay. Enjoy a double bedroom with flatron TV (and caster) plus kitchenette with adjoining bathroom. There are two verandas, each overlooking the shoreline. One has a common access but a kettle braai and cute, two-seater bench-table is supplied for your exclusive use. The main dining area is located in the jacuzzi room at a wide window which overlooks the water.

Tree Tops
Catering for bigger, budget conscious groups, Tree Tops is a fisherman's dream (one flight of steps below Cozy Corner), with a bird's-eye view of the Dam, boasting a jacuzzi lolling over the lip of the Lakeview complex. It has three, double-bedrooms (with two bathrooms en-suite and one inter-leading for the kids), plus spacious lounge and open-plan kitchen with sleeper nooks for the little ones. It is ideal for a family or group of intimate friends getting together to chill together in their own, private facility.

The Penthouse
Larger families are ideal for the Penthouse (minimum four adults). The penthouse apartment is an expansive, three-double bed-roomed flat on the third floor. In addition, there is a grand, open-plan lounge-dining-room; expansive bar and games room; basic kitchen; sleeper nook for the kids and a separate, Jacuzzi room.

Here your party will enjoy the luxury of having the whole 220 square meter apartment to yourselves and all the facilities will be available, if you wish, for your private use (self-catering). We have three double bedrooms. Bathroom facilities include three toilets, two showers and a corner bath with a prized view overlooking the water - there is also a private sleeping nook so everyone can enjoy their own space.

General
All units have waterfront access for fishing and boat-launching facilities are available as additional options. The grounds are secure and provide ample space for children to play.

Parking for cars, trailers, boats, quads are available while private garages are available on request for an additional daily fee.

Each unit has unique offerings which may or may not be included in your package so please check our specials including private jacuzzis with retractable roof, for sunbathing or star gazing (optional). They all have TV/casters, and our restaurant has a lady’s bar at the Sisters Dam Pub with full on DSTV premium and Wi-Fi (when we are outage free).

Each bedroom has fans to fend off the effects of this year's sizzling summer well-ventilated spaces. Built-in-braai-come-fireplaces accompany each unit too!

All accom. has options for additional add-ons to keep the kids busy at night, like your own pool table, darts, table tennis, swing ball and the like. (On booking please check which facilities can be matched with your unit of choice and budget.)

At least two-night stays are preferable for enjoyment but the longer the better! During high season preference is given to 3- to 5- nigh bookings at standard rates.

Starter packs (briquets, wood, firelighters & matches plus ice) are available at the restaurant for purchase in addition to our standard table d'hout and pizza hut. Order braai packs, food, pub grub, ice and ice-cold thirst quenchers of every kind.

Get a taste of country life by visiting a variety of local clubs, restaurants and working marinas within walking distance, which attract Africa's biggest inland regattas and, of course, a bird-watchers paradise.

So, take a birding trail, visit the Croc Ranch, cycle the shores of carve out a quad bike route of your own, safely past the Dam Wall or over the Koppie.

Explore the Khoisan ruins (by foot or boat) and the Castle and Island (by pre-arrangement) or take a ghost cruise or safari circuit around the Island.

Alternatively, try your luck just down the drag at Emerald Casino (30km away) or visit Ascot on Vaal racecourse (just 25km away).
