Kuilfontein Stable Cottages and The Paddocks is a Karoo oasis conveniently situated with gates on the N1, 12 km south of Colesberg in the Northern Cape. Penny Southey and her daughter, Alexandra have converted their famous racehorse stables into a guest house of charming, eclectic country appeal. Crisp white linen, mohair blankets, feather pillows and warm Karoo hospitality where guests are treated as old friends.

The delightful old stable quarters are stylish and comfortable with a convivial pub made from an upturned horse crib and an atmospheric dining room where delicious meals are created by the resident chef with organic farm produce.
The Paddocks@Kuilfontein (pets and children welcome)
Spacious units with one or two bedrooms overlooking the vast karoo landscape with sitting rooms, kitchenettes and patios with braai facilities. Here tea/coffee and muffins are supplied for the morning and braai packs or readymade meals are available.
Kuilfontein Stable Cottages provides breakfast and there is a dining room with gourmet karoo fare using farm fresh produce.

Hike or stroll on the vast estate while birdwatching and seeing the odd springbok or sheep grazing nearby. The farm is an active operation with sheep, cattle and game breeding. There is a springwater swimming pool, boule court and on site Boerwar battlefield. Stargazing is spectacular.
