This is a unique, wild environment that has to be experienced firsthand to
realise its elemental power. On any given day you may sight reedbuck, baboons,
oribi, duiker, or herds of eland up to sixty strong. The immense sky provides
its own show of beautiful sunsets, rainbows, and amazing cloud formations that
can change by the hour.
A short walk brings you to a delightful stream flowing directly from the
mountains. It is wonderful for children and adults alike. The river that runs
through the valley has many large pools in which to swim, tube, or fish.
Mountain hikes afford beautiful vistas in all directions. All the water is pure
The traditional construction of the cottage means that it is cool in summer and cosy in winter. It has a spacious open plan living room/dining room/kitchen that opens onto a large pergola overlooking the pond and set against the beauty of the mountain landscape. The cottage has a simple and relaxed atmosphere and there is ample reading material, games, and toys for a rainy day. It is a perfectly isolated for a couple, with a double bed set in a cosy alcove next to the fireplace in the living area. It is also a place where children can run wild: the fenced area has a small jungle gym and the setting on the pond is a natural playground. There are two rooms upstairs under the thatch, one with a double and single bed and a second with two single beds. The bathroom downstairs has a shower and a bath (please bring towels). The kitchen is fully equipped with fridge, stove, microwave, cutlery, and crockery. The cottage is serviced daily.
