COUVALOUP translates to the 'wolf's den' in English, and is a reflection of my dreams with influences from my travels all around the world. COUVALOUP is where sophisticated luxury meets the countryside to create a mystical scene.
It is a place to find peace, surrounded by good energy and homegrown quality food. In COUVALOUP we would love our guests to feel welcome and relaxed, and to create special moments that may bring joy to people's hearts.
Situates in the small town of Hopefield on the west coast, 115 km from Cape Town .It is inland from Langebaan but the easy access from Cape Town is via the N7 and the R45.
The house was built in 1852 and was the home of Health minister Karl Bremmer who was born in the house in 1885. There is 8 double bedrooms, all different and with an eclectic style, 4 are in the main house, and 3 in the barn, all with en suite bathroom apart from the Dali room in the house which has a bath but a share toilet.
The property is on 1.5 hectare with a beautiful salt pool and lots of friendly dogs.
We are growing our own vegetables and use local produces as well as using solar geysers and reusing water.
The house is very peaceful and it is a great place to relax and do nothing.
The village is only 30 minutes drive from Paternoster where you can have amazing food by the sea and one hour from Cape Town.
