The first thing that strikes you when you get to Bush Baby Glen is the view sweeping out over the riverine forests of the Sabana River to the hills beyond.

The second thing is the accommodation itself. Each one is spacious, light and cool. The reaction on walking in is “Oh wow, I could live here”.

Every one is lovingly designed and decorated to give you a real home-from-home experience.

Each accommodation has furniture, pictures and artefacts from our own home. So they have something unique and special to offer. We have ensured that you have king-size extra-length beds, double sleeper sofas and we add a double mattress for comfort, the best linen (white percale), and well equipped kitchens. Quality appliances, cutlery, crockery and cookware.

We also supply complimentary packs of tea, coffee, sugar, salt & pepper and enough milk for your first night’s stay.

And there is space, loads of it. Our average apartment size is 55 sq m.

Every cottage has a flat-screen TV, DSTV with Hotel Bouquet, Free Uncapped Wi-Fi. (Hey, this is Hazyview, South Africa and we have no Telkom or Fibre-optic cables. Our satellite service provider can fall over, so bring your own 3G data card as backup).

Each unit has its own entrance and deck. There are braai facilities for all the units and there is a pool for the use of the guests. The views are stunning and the bird life is prolific.

NO 6 - THE PREMIER SUITE
Our magical Premier Suite is a delight. It is the only part of the farmhouse where we needed to do an addition.

The existing kitchen, bathroom and lounge were refurbished and then we added on the glorious bedroom with 270 degree views to the garden.

Look out for the original "Auriol's Digital Paintings" in the lounge.

The pool is solar heated allowing you to swim into late summer/autumn.

The bedroom has a Super-king bed with percale cotton sheets. The en-suite bathroom has a double shower and slipper bath.

The large kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering with full fridge/freezer, microwave and stove.

The living area has a double sleeper sofa (we add a double mattress for comfort - and yes, percale cotton bedding) . Access to the bathroom is through a second door. There is a private patio, garden and braai area.

It is lovely.

No 7 - The Cottage

The Cottage is set slightly apart from the other accommodation and while it doesn’t have the view it has its own little private garden and braai patio set under the trees.

It is suitable for couple or for a family with two children.

The apartment is cosy, country-styled and has a huge separate en-suite bedroom for mom and dad. The main bedroom has an extra-length king-size bed fitted with luxurious percale cotton.

The living area has a double sleeper for the kids, we add a double mattress and, yes percale cotton bedding for extra comfort.
.
Four adults could share this apartment- keep in mind though, there is only one bathroom with a bath, a shower, a toilet and a basin which is accessed through the main bedroom.

The country-style kitchen is fully kitted out for self-catering, and has a gas oven and hob. Perfect for load-shedding.

FAMILY ACCOMMODATION

Of the 3 terraced family accommodations, No 4 and 5 are next to each other making it ideal for 2 families to take a break at the same time or for a small group of 4 - 6 aduts sharing. The Loft was so named because of it's high ceilings and Oregon pine floor.

No 1 - The Loft

As you enter you realise it is a bit different. The hallway boasts (great) pictures painted by Andrew’s mom as well as some enthusiastic ones painted by Auriol.

The “Loft” is lovely, airy and styled on a spacious open plan. It has wooden floors, an antique wardrobe and a high-vaulted ceiling.
The bedroom-living area has double doors that lead onto a balcony and has views over the garden.

The open plan area has a king-size extra-length bed fitted with luxurious percale cotton and there is a double sleeper which makes it suitable for a couple or for a family with two small children. We add a mattress to the sleeper sofa to make it extra cosy. And yes, percale cotton bedding.

There is a separate kitchen-dining area and the kitchen is fully kitted out for self-catering. There is a covered braai area on the porch. The bathroom has a shower, a toilet and a basin.

(Shh – it’s Andrew’s favourite)

No 4 - Family Suite

This is lovely, huge and has a separate bedroom for mom and dad. The main bedroom has an extra-length king-size bed fitted with luxurious percale cotton. An antique wardrobe and an old kist add to the country feel of this room.

There is a very spacious living area with a double sleeper to which we add a double mattress for comfort. And yes, percale cotton bedding for the kids, and an ultra comfy sofa to flop down on after a tough day of fun.

Four adults could share this cottage, keep in mind though there is only one bathroom with a shower, a toilet and a basin which is accessed through the main bedroom.

The kitchen-dining area is fully kitted-out for self-catering. The deck has views over the garden and hills beyond and there is a braai area on the walkway below the apartment.

No 5 - Family Open Plan

It is big and light, so you won’t feel cramped. It is Auriol's favourite.

The bedroom-living area has double doors that lead onto the deck and has views over the garden and hills beyond.

It has an extra-length king-size bed fitted with luxurious percale cotton and there is a double sleeper which makes it suitable for a couple or for a family with two children.

The kitchen-dining area is fully kitted out for self-catering. There is a braai area in the back garden which makes it a safe place for your children to play.

No 3 - Couple's Open Plan

We think it is the combination of lovely green tones that give this couple’s accommodation its appeal, this is the cutest and prettiest of them all. And not small by anyone’s standards!

This open plan accommodation has everything you need to make your stay with us comfortable and luxurious. It boasts a painting by a lesser known South African artist that Auriol inherited from her aunt that perfectly complements the mood of this apartment.
