The long-term goal of 79 On Ridge Bed and Breakfast is to become the best choice in Pietermaritzburg for lodging by creating a differentiated experience capitalizing on personal service, and the historical nature of the 1928 Victorian home, and its unique location in one of the oldest suburbs in Pietermaritzburg. We are more than a great bed and breakfast. We have created an environment of pampered luxury that surpasses the standard fare.
79 On Ridge Bed and Breakfast was originally built in 1928. The current Owners purchased the property in 2011 and have spent many hours restoring this Grand old Victorian home to its former glory. The building has undergone extensive restorations to convert it into an Exclusive Bed and Breakfast with attention to detail being our focal point in establishing a Victorian Classic Theme through out the establishment.
We pride ourselves in attention to detail in ensuring that you enjoy your stay with us and that you are comfortable in our Home.
The 79 On Ridge B&B guest will have every need met to ensure his/her comfort. For special occasions, catered meals, chilled wine, etc. can be provided for an additional stipend. During the weekends, guests will return to the B&B in the evening and find cheese, fruit, and wine for snacking before turning in.The outside veranda areas open creating a large area, ideal for formal or informal gatherings (i.e. wedding receptions, office parties, Christmas parties, etc.). The outdoors, with its access to the pool, a beautiful landscaped garden, and private veranda areas offer private areas for you to sit and relax and take in the beautiful surroundings. We will make every effort to make you feel at home.
Tourists will want to explore the beauty of Pietermaritzburg, market square, Museums and Art Galleries to mention a few.
Amenities that go beyond the typical B&B included:
Breakfasts consist of a variety of hand selected cereals, yoghurts, preserves and juices. A plated breakfast is prepared according to your order handed to us the night before. Please confirm in advance if you have any special dietary requirements.
