Located in the heart of Zululand, Zebra Hills is a private Big 5 game reserve
situated within the 22 000Ha biosphere of the Zululand Rhino Reserve. Join us in
the untamed, secluded bushveld and natural forests where wild animals roam
freely.
Zebra Hills is home to Africa's Big 5; Lion, Leopard, Buffalo, Elephant and
Black Rhino which are often sighted on Safari. Learn more about some of our
numerous other majestic species from a trained and knowledgeable ranger such as
Cheetah, White Rhino, African Wild Cat, Spotted Hyena, White Tailed Mongoose,
Kudu, Blue Wildebeest, Zebra and Giraffe while sipping Sundowners amidst Acacia
trees and some 360 bird species.
We welcome you to entice your curiosity of Africa’s wildlife in the serenity and
comfort of our lodge where staff will care for your every need. Dine under the
stars with a traditional South African meal prepared by our talented chef, enjoy
sightings at our very busy water hole from the comfort of your room, cool down
with a dip in the pool and soak in the sun while relaxing in the shade of Marula
trees.
About Us
Facilities:
Zebra Hills Game Lodge is a nine-bedroom lodge sleeping 18 adults. All our
suites are air-conditioned and equipped with a bar fridge, mosquito nets and en
suite bathrooms with a bath and/or shower. Enjoy our garden of Cycads, Marula
Trees and African Fig Trees which attract many bird species while lazing under
the thatched roof day bed or taking a dip in the pool. Watch as game come and go
to quench their thirst at our water hole or relax on those rainy days at the bar
while watching sport on the big screen TV where DSTV is available at all times.
In the evening our boma is lit up by a warm log fire where traditional dinners
are served. Listen to the night sounds unfold while enjoying a drink and looking
out for some of the many nocturnal species our reserve is home to. Bush dinners
may also be arranged on Nkonkoni Hill (Windebeest/Gnu Hill) where a meal can be
enjoyed under a starlit sky surrounded by untamed bush.
Activities
Safaris/Game Drives take place daily in the early morning and late afternoon
with an experienced safari guide. The guests are welcome and encouraged to
interact with their guide by asking questions relating to nature, the reserve
and the area.
Guests are welcome to sit at our Game Viewing Hide on the edge of a waterhole
and watch the various animals and birds pass by while observing the interaction
between "family" members of the four legged kind and learn how they communicate
with each other.
Zebra Hills Game Reserve is an ideal venue for functions and special occasions
offering facilities for weddings, family reunions and corporate team building
experiences with in-house facilitation and conferencing.
The reserve is situated within a 40-minute drive to the world famous Hluhluwe/Umfolozi
Game Reserve. This is a 96,000-hectare Big 5 reserve where one is able to do a
self drive in the park or have one of our experienced game rangers accompany you
in an open 4 wheel drive game viewing vehicle for optimum game viewing.
The St Lucia World Heritage Site is only one and a half hours drive from Zebra
Hills. This is a must for beach lovers with the opportunity to take a boat
cruise up the St Lucia Estuary. Here you will have the opportunity of seeing
Hippos and Crocodiles including some beautiful marine bird life.
Other activities available in the area include a one of a kind elephant
interaction experience, Turtle Tracking along the St Lucia coastline, Tiger
Fishing in Josini Dam, the Emdoneni Cheetah Breeding Project and Bird Watching
at the Nsumu Pan. Should you require more information or would like us to

Accommodation.
Relax in the comfort of one of our nine Double, Twin or Family units furnished
with air-conditioning, a bar fridge, tea and coffee facilities and en suite
bathroom. All our suites have something special to offer from spectacular views
of our water hole and indigenous gardens to authentic stone baths built for two.
Zebra Hills prides itself on catering to individual and specific needs. Book a
room and sit back while staff cater to your every need or book out the entire
lodge (minimum 8 people) for a self catering weekend away. Our luxury suites are
designed for your comfort and should you require anything to make your stay more
