Wilhelmushoogte guestfarm is situated halfway between Gauteng and Cape Town
on a beautiful alternative route for the N1. It nestles between the karoo
koppies a stonethrow north of the Orange river, by road about 5 kilos from the
wall of the second largest dam in South Africa, the Vanderkloofdam.
Wilhelmushoogte is on a gamefarm with lots of free roaming game around like
Eland, Bontebok, Impala and Mountain Reedbuck that you will come across while
hiking in the area or climbing the nearby koppies.
The establishment consist out of 3 bedrooms with two bathrooms, the bedrooms to
sleep 2 persons each, of which one has a double bed. A fully equipped kitchen is
available, a dining room as well as a large sitting room. Unfortunately no TV is
available but to compensate for that a nice outdoor braai is available with also
a farm dam to cool off during the summer months.
Activities in the nearby area is hiking, game - and birdwhatching, hunting,
fishing (in different ways) swimming and canoeing. The nearby Vanderkloofdam
offers all the different watersports that you can think about.
Wilhelmushoogte is 170 kilo's south of Kimberley and 210 kilo's to the southwest
of Bloemfontein, near the Vanderkloofdam in the Orange River. It is a perfect
halfway stop between Gauteng and the Western Cape on an alternative route for
the busy N1 or the N12.
