Villa 5 is a luxurious and extremely well appointed free-standing,
self-catering duplex, nestled on the banks of a unique, freshwater Lake,
Groenvlei, which forms part of the picturesque Goukamma Nature Reserve.
Surrounded by protected beauty and only a short walk to one of Sedgefield's
"best kept secret" beaches, this Villa provides five star luxury with views and
access to Groenvlei, one of just a few freshwater lakes in all of the southern
hemisphere.
The unique "Green (Groen) Lake" has no in-flowing river and no outlet to the
Indian Ocean, which is situated to the South behind the sand dunes of coastal
fynbos and forest vegetation. Observations of frolicking bottlenose and common
dolphins within the marine protected areas of the Ocean are commonplace.
Goukamma Nature Reserve boasts 14km of coastline to nearby Buffels Bay, and
covers some 2500 hectares of diverse habitat supporting many animal species,
including more than 220 recorded species of birds, together with other unique
and shy animals which are commonplace only to the prestige of such protected,
natural areas of the Cape.
Several amazing beaches are nearby, ranging from the long stretch of Wilderness
beach to the beautiful beaches of Sedgefield which reach as far as Buffels Bay.
The famed town of Knysna is also just a short drive away from the doorstep of
Villa 5. Whatever you choose to do, Sedgefield has all within or nearby for the
discerning traveller to have the most wonderful of holidays.
Villa 5 is situated within the grounds of the exclusive Lake Pleasant Living
Resort which includes what was once a very well known hotel of historical
interest. The secure grounds now form a unique holiday/lifestyle destination
with the benefit of a great range of facilities, forming an amazing retreat
amongst pristine and serene, landscaped gardens. The Villa is equipped with
modern conveniences adding to the luxury and comfort within this exclusive,
relaxed, five-star environment, and can accommodate up to four guests, with
additional room for up to two children on the sleeper couch (nominal supplements
apply per guest beyond four).
Accommodation:
Villa 5 consists of two spacious en-suite bedrooms (both with shower and bath)
equipped with televisions and benefitting from a private balcony overlooking
Groenvlei Lake and the manicured grounds and ponds. For the business traveller
there is also a study area separate to the bedrooms.
Downstairs boasts a very large open plan living and dining area with unique
furnishings, original art and doors leading to the furnished patio with private
plunge pool, braai, lounging and social area overlooking the landscaped gardens,
ponds and the lake itself. The fully-equipped kitchen is spacious and boasts a
further separate laundry/washing room. The Villa also benefits from a lock up
garage and private parking for two additional cars. Air-conditioning in the
Villa is standard providing both heated and cool/cold air. The feature fireplace
adds a welcome charm for those chilly nights in front of the TV or just relaxing
with a book. The downstairs cloakroom (wc) removes the need for traversing up
the stairs!
All the facilities of Lake Pleasant Living are available to guests of Villa 5
and days can be filled with swimming, relaxing, peace and tranquillity,
sunbathing, fishing, bird-watching, boating, wining, dining, hiking, golfing,
visits to nearby pristine beaches or maximising the endless activities the
beautiful Garden Route has to offer the entire family.
