Vilanculos in Mozambique is nestled along the coastline of the warm clear
blue waters of the Indian Ocean.
Once you arrive in our little piece of paradise, you will be shown to your
accommodation by our friendly staff. You will have a domestic helper, who will
cater to your needs for the time you are here.
Each of our houses has 4 bedrooms, which are fully air conditioned, with
bathrooms en-suite. The open plan kitchen and living area leads out onto a deck
which overlooks the beautiful Indian Ocean. Each house has its own private
plunge pool on the deck, great to relax in after a day on the beach - or
anytime!
The houses are fully equipped with cutlery, crockery and linen and a small safe
is available to store your valuables.
Feel free to take a stroll through our lush gardens or down the walkway to the
beach, which is right on our doorstep!
What to do:
There are a number of things to do in Vilanculos.
The beautiful beaches are safe to walk on, and the beach in front of Vila do
Paraiso is one of the nicest in the area, so get down there and enjoy!
The sea should be respected at all time, the tidal range here is vast and you
need to be aware of the tides when going out on a boat or sending the kids down
to the beach. The water comes in fast and at Spring High tide, is very high!
If you are going out on a boat and fancy snorkeling, there are numerous
beautiful sites where this can be done. There are also a few little sand islands
which are lovely to just relax on. It does get hot out there, so do take sun
precautions. Should you require boating activities, please organize this at
reception with the manager. The boats are charged on a per day basis, exclusive
of fuel for the self catering guests. The boat will come with a skipper. Snorkel
as well as fishing gear can be hired, and bookings must be made through the
manager.
It is a great idea to plan a barbeque on a deserted sandbank or island. This can
be arranged through the manager.
At Archipelago Sun (in Chibuene) there is a lovely man-made reef right off the
beach. At Spring Low tide, this reef is accessible from the beach and is perfect
for the whole family to snorkel on. There are a vast number of different fish
species on this reef and it is a highly recommended activity for the family.
If you are a horse rider, there are horses in the Archipelago. Rides can be
arranged for you, ask at the office to do so. This is a wonderful activity for
all - beginner riders are also catered for and there's nothing better than horse
riding on the beach!
On Wednesday evenings at Smugglers, there is a volleyball evening. The dedicated
Vilanculos Volleyballers are always there and welcome new players with open
arms. If you don't play, get down there to watch!
