Valemount Country Lodge is situated on Corrie Annat Farm which is 9 km from
the village of Sani Pass,
which is used as the main entrance to the Kingdom of Lesotho. We have a
beautiful home which is situated in a beautiful landscaped English garden with
manicured lawns for our guests to laze around. On the property is also two
stocked trout dams for keen fisherman or adventures guests who wants to try and
learn. Our gardens overlook both dams where our guests can lounge around and sip
on a glass of whine.
The Lodge is a single storey home. The main house, that houses the guests'
kitchen, dining room & TV lounge, is separate from the rooms. Valemount has 6
double rooms which is all en-suite and has each a private entrance. Three of the
rooms have king size beds and three of the rooms have twin beds. Four of the
rooms are spacious rooms with seating areas, inside and outside. These four
rooms also has limited kitchen facilities with a small fridge, microwave,
toaster and limited crockery & cutlery. All the rooms are equipped with 200%
percale linen and fluffy towels. All the rooms have fireplaces for our cooler
nights in summer and freezing nights in winter.
Valemount Bed & Breakfast is 250 km from Durban & 600 km from Johannesburg,
access directly from the R617 to Kokstad.

Trips up Sani pass can be arranged with guests being collected at the lodge.
Access is directly from the tar R617 route 8km west of Underberg.
- Each room also has a television and DVD player. In reception is a
library of DVD's or in town are two video shops for you to make your choice
or the newer releases.

Activities in the area
Horse Riding trails at Khotso. You can enjoy riding into the mountains with
extraordinary views, bubbling crystal clear streams and pristine lakes. A light
meal or refreshments or meal can be arranged and a cliff jump off their
waterfall. Riding takes of 9h00, either full day or 1 to 3 hours. 3 - 5 day pony
trekking into Lesotho can also be arranged by Khotso.
Canoeing, river rafting & Tubing is most enjoyed in the summer months and is
conveniently done on the stretch of the Umzimkulu which is 4 km from the Lodge.
A single MTB cycling track less than 4 km from the Lodge.
Trips up Sani pass can be arranged with guests being collected at the lodge.
Access is directly from the tar R617 route 8km west of Underberg. Trips go up
everyday and are led by professional guides. For this your passport is essential
as you will enter into Lesotho to have lunch at the highest pub in Africa at the
Sani Top Chalet.
We have two stocked trout dams on the farm. The Umzimkhulu river is 4 km from
the Lodge. Guided river fishing can be arranged.
Our guests have a choice of three scenic golf courses.
There are local pubs, restaurants and tea gardens in the nearby villages of
Underberg & Himeville.
Hiking trails available at a choice of in Drakensberg Gardens, Cobham & other.
Our villages offers a variety of restaurants, gift shopping, historical hotels &
other and loads of child friendly spots. Tour operators will elaborate on the
history of the Southern Drakensberg and surrounding areas. They specializes in
trips up the Sani Pass, birding, & rock art. Prior arrangement required.
The Underberg Studio Arts & Crafts in Underberg is not to be missed. Studio
specializing in Fine Art photography & ceramics.
Over 300 bird species are found in the area.
The legendary Alan Paton's Express ("Cry the beloved Country") offers scheduled
train trips reliving the past and an experience of traveling back in time.
