Tregaron Trout Lodge offers the following:

• The cottage is situated in the foothills of the Drakensberg on an Angus Stud Farm.
• The cottage has 4 bedrooms (all en-suite) . Two main bedrooms with queen size beds. Two back bedrooms with 2 single beds. Hard mattresses, soft linen
• Electric blankets on all beds
• Three extra mattresses in the loft area for children which is also the TV area
• There is a large 12 seater dining room table
• Two fireplaces in the cottage, one of which is a braai and can be used all year to cook on
• Microwave, large oven (gas and electric) and large fridge/freezer
• Crockery/cutlery/platters etc for up to 14 guests all supplied
• The cottage is metres away from a well stocked trout dam. Regular 6 pound catches on the 6 hectare dam.
• Float tubing permitted.
• Still water stocked twice a year with rainbow and brown trout.
• Fly tying equipment available.
• No motorised craft allowed.
• Catch and release. Kept fish charged at R 50.00 p/kg.
• All linen supplied
• Firewood supplied
• Pedal boat and canoe on the dam
• TV including DSTV at no extra cost to the guests.
• Magnificent views over the dam
• Abundant birdlife - bald ibis, fish eagles,cranes(wattled/blue and crowned),kingfishers,large variety of duck and geese to name but a few
• Cell phone signal is available,however, limited to certain areas.
• Towels and linen supplied.
• Lodge is serviced daily. Gratuity appreciated.
• Sedan access.

What to do in the area

• close proximity to the Midlands Meander which offers a variety of activities and shops
• close to several fantastic restaurants ( Hartford House, Lords of the Manor, Cleopatra's)
• Berg horse rides and hikes
• Many trout fishing dams in the area ( the best one being on the farm)
• scenic walks around the farm
• games, children's puzzles and books as well as a well stocked library
• 30/40 minute drive to well known Spa's in the area - Brookdale Health Hydro and Forduin
• 3 Golf courses in the area (Mooi River Country Club 20min drive, Gowrie Golf Course 30 min drive, Boshoek 40min drive)
• 30 minute drive to Nottingham Road - which has several well known coffee shops and restaurants
