Jan Kemp is situated just north of Kimberley in a region called the Diamond Fields in the Northern Cape, South Africa. It is more commonly known amongst the locals as Jan Kempdorp. This town is an agricultural area and the border between the Cape and the Transvaal used to run through it, making it the only town in South Africa that was in two provinces. In addition to the discovery of diamonds in the area, the towns have prospered into cotton fields, dates and grapes. There is so much to see and do in the area for the whole family.

Attractions:
Kimberley is famous for its discovery of diamonds which changed the course of its history. There is wealth in copper too, as well as in the extravagant beauty of Namaqualand's wild flowers. The area is also notable for fine examples of Bushman art, abundant deposits of semi-precious stones, and friendly hospitality. The family can also enjoy the wildlife sanctuaries and smaller reserves in the area.

The Jan Kemp Golf Club is a 9 hole course. It is beautifully kept and offers challenges on each hole. It is an enjoyable course. The Golf Club is popular amongst locals and visitors.
Climate:
Jan Kemp enjoys warm to hot summer months with most rainfall as afternoon thunderstorms. The winter months are mild and dry with temperatures dropping considerably in the evenings.
