Grande Parade & City Hall

Grande Parade & City Hall
Cape Town's City Hall was built in 1905. It is built in Italian Renaissance style and is one of the last Victorian style structures in Cape Town. It is a very popular tourist destination amongst locals and visitors from around the world. The building is a must see, it is beautiful and the mosaic floors lead to a marble staircase where you will also get to see the stunning stained glass which is vintage. There is also a pipe organ which attracts many visitors, as well as the London's Big Ben replica.
The Cape Philharmonic Orchestra often perform concerts at City Hall, a definite must see.
Directly in front of the City Hall is the Grand Parade. This was the setting for the Cape Town FIFA Fan Fest during the 2010 FIFA World Cup which took place in South Africa. When Mandela was released from prison, more than 250 000 South Africans welcomed him home at this point.
